My Story...
With my beautiful bride at a Charity Awards Dinner in DC.
Telling my story seems quite self-serving...and it is. I think it is important for you to know the track record of anyone you are about to get into business with.
I was born in Los Angeles and was raised by a single dad who sacrificed his dreams to raise my brother Mike and I. (You can check out Mike's photography skills at www.michaeltaft.com). In sixth grade, my father moved us to Beverly Hills for one reason...to have us associate with winners. We were far from wealthy yet this move proved to be a good one. I learned that association is the single most important thing you can do to improve your life. Thanks Dad!
I have always had a passion to help people. It probably has something to do with my childhood desires to help my mother overcome her alcoholism. When I was 21 I was fortunate enough to find myself working for a company where I was offered a training position. Although it didn't pay much, it served as a launching pad for what would eventually be my calling. I recall the first time I truly helped shift the course of someone's life for the better. If you want to know the story, get yourself a copy of The Sales Cure. It was the moment that I knew my life's mission was to dramatically impact others on a positive scale. From that moment on, I devoured every book I could get my hands on. I studied personal development, finances, how to improve relationships and communication skills. I also attended at least one seminar every month for four years. I was hungry to grow and the schools I attended didn't teach what I wanted...rather, needed to learn.
Fast forward to 2001 and I landed myself a job as a new home sales counselor for a Fortune 500 homebuilder in Phoenix, AZ. named KB Home. I spent some time selling homes and loved it. Then I was promoted several times and eventually became the Sr. Training Manager and the National Sales Trainer for the company. This was a dream job. If it hadn't been for the economy, I may have stayed a lot longer than I did.
In 2007 I decided to start Ryan Taft Seminars, LLC with the goal of fusing all of the personal development skills I had learned with my sales training background. This decision has proven to be incredibly fortunate and I am truly blessed.
While all of the business success was happening, I did have some challenges. In 2009 I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. It wasn't easy to go through yet I was fortunate as it didn't spread and I didn't need any chemo or radiation.

Also in 2009, I met the most amazing and stunning woman; Melissa. She is also a trainer and coach. As I got to know her, I couldn't see my life without her. On a trip to Hawaii in June 2010, I proposed to her on the beach during a private dinner. We were married two months later.
Melissa has an amazing daughter named Ashlee who is brilliant! She is attending DePaul University in Chicago as a Junior. I guess that means I married into being an empty nester! Too funny.
Anyhow, I am excited you spent time getting to know me. Please send me your contact information so I can get to know you. Thanks for stopping by. I truly appreciate your time and attention. To your success, Ryan |
